The mission of the Hosts of Halloween in New Orleans is to provide funding for Project Lazarus, a home in New Orleans for men and women with AIDS, so that they may provide healthcare and support services for their residents. Project Lazarus, which provides direct AIDS services, is the sole beneficiary of all funds which are raised.
October 11th is national coming out day. It’s a day of celebration and support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community. But we here at donsayh8.com think the message can go much further. We have all had amazing individuals who have supported us when we came out, and of course those who have not.
This is Thiago, a 23 year old medical student in a large university in Brazil. He decided to come out at an end of the year party for his whole class in anticipation of National Coming Out Day. He speaks excellent English and his story is very inspiring and you will feel very happy for him.
I suggest sliding the time bar in to the 5 minute mark to start, otherwise it’s a little too long. But, of course, if you like watching him, then, by all means, start at the beginning.
What a cool story! I went with a guy to my high school prom, and I also had a lot of good reactions – no cheering or anything when we kissed or danced together, but some guys and girls I would’ve never expected came up to me to tell me how they thought it was brave and stuff.. also much better than I expected. So glad it went great for you.

After posting the previous story on coming out from Brazil, I remembered I ran a story about the world’s largest gay pride parade in Sao Paula, Brazil in 2010. So, here it is. The mass of people marching thru the city’s main streets is truly amazing.
Sunday June 6, 2010 was a big day for Sao Paulo, Brazil. Over 3 million celebrants participated in the world’s biggest gay parade. There were signs at the parade condemning homophobia and urged people to vote for equal rights. We sometimes forget how big the world’s gay community really is. A movement to recognize the rights of all people is unstoppable.
There certainly was a milestone event that happened just a few days before this year’s NYC gay pride parade. The New York legislature passed a law that allows gay marriage. Sit back and enjoy all the festivity that was on display on this extra special day in New York.
